About us
JAM Ayiti is a newly established non-profit organization, founded in response to the growing challenges of the Ecole de Musique de Marmelade (Marmelade School of Music - MSM). Since its creation, MSM has primarily relied on funding from friends and small grants from partner organizations, in addition to crucial contributions from instructors and the community. While dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to quality music education regardless of their economic circumstances, MSM is constantly cutting back on activities due to insufficient financial and operational support.
We created JAM Ayiti in recognition of the vital role that MSM plays in the community, but also the critical times the school is facing, and the hope it represents for a Haiti in dire need of regaining control of its narrative. JAM Ayiti's Board is composed of volunteers. Its founders are committed to working with MSM to find solutions to the school's challenges, including funding, resources, and access to experienced professionals. With its focus on practical solutions and collaboration, JAM Ayiti is poised to make a lasting impact for MSM, the wider community, and the Haitian music education sector.
